Elizabeth joined Liverpool City Public Analysts Service in 1992 where she was involved with the analysis of food, water, environmental and consumer products, and forensic toxicology. In 2003 she joined Eurofins Laboratories Ltd. as an analytical services manager working in food and agriculture analysis at the Birkenhead and Chester laboratories before moving to Wolverhampton in 2006 to head up a new Public Analyst laboratory. She joined Worcestershire County Council Scientific Services as Public Analyst and Laboratory Manager in 2007 and was promoted to Head of Laboratory in 2008, heading up the Council's food, agriculture, consumer safety, environmental and asbestos testing services and providing consultancy to enforcement authorities and food businesses. She joined Public Analyst Scientific Services Ltd. in 2011 as Deputy Head of Scientific Services and became Head of Scientific Services in 2017.
